Send Bugpot reports to Asana
The Asana integration turns reports into tasks in the project you choose. Bugpot statuses map to sections, and priority becomes a custom field so filters keep working.
Bugpot × Asana
Create Asana tasks from Bugpot reports, mapped to project sections and assignees.
Status pills flow both ways.
How the sync works
Two-way sync, not a fire-and-forget webhook
Bugpot writes the report into Asana and then watches for changes coming back — status, comments and closes — so the two systems stay in step without anyone re-typing anything.
Outbound
Bugpot → Asana
Reports become tasks in the chosen project, with the annotated screenshot attached and the environment block in the task description.
Inbound
Asana → Bugpot
Moving a task between sections updates the Bugpot report status; comments and completions sync both ways.
Field map
What lands where
Every Bugpot field has a home in Asana. The defaults are sensible; you can remap any of them from the workspace settings if your setup names things differently.
| Bugpot field | Asana field |
|---|---|
| Title | Task name |
| Description | Task description |
| Reporter name + email | Task description (attributed at top) |
| Environment block | Task description (as an environment section) |
| Annotated screenshot | Attachment (PNG) |
| Priority | Priority / label |
| Status | Column / stage |
| Assignee | Assignee |
Setup
Five steps, about five minutes
The whole thing runs through OAuth — you don’t paste tokens, and Bugpot only requests the scopes it needs to create issues and read status changes.
In Bugpot, open Settings → Integrations and click Connect Asana.
Authorise Bugpot via OAuth and choose the project that receives new tasks.
Map Bugpot statuses to columns or stages in Asana.
Decide whether comments in Asana post back into the Bugpot thread — on by default.
Send a test report and check the task appears with the screenshot attached.
