Send Bugpot reports to GitLab
The GitLab integration works with gitlab.com and self-hosted GitLab. New reports become issues, labels and priorities flow across, and status changes stay in step.
Bugpot × GitLab
Create GitLab issues from Bugpot reports and keep status, labels and comments in sync.
Status pills flow both ways.
How the sync works
Two-way sync, not a fire-and-forget webhook
Bugpot writes the report into GitLab and then watches for changes coming back — status, comments and closes — so the two systems stay in step without anyone re-typing anything.
Outbound
Bugpot → GitLab
Reports create issues with the screenshot in the description and labels for issue type and priority.
Inbound
GitLab → Bugpot
Closing the issue resolves the Bugpot report; comments mirror both ways.
Field map
What lands where
Every Bugpot field has a home in GitLab. The defaults are sensible; you can remap any of them from the workspace settings if your setup names things differently.
| Bugpot field | GitLab field |
|---|---|
| Title | Issue title |
| Description | Description (Markdown) |
| Reporter name + email | Reporter (custom field) |
| Environment block (browser, OS, viewport, URL) | Environment (Markdown code block) |
| Console errors | Attached as fenced code |
| Annotated screenshot | Attachment (PNG) |
| Priority | Priority |
| Status | Status |
Setup
Five steps, about five minutes
The whole thing runs through OAuth — you don’t paste tokens, and Bugpot only requests the scopes it needs to create issues and read status changes.
In Bugpot, open Settings → Integrations and click Connect GitLab.
Authorise Bugpot to read and write to your GitLab workspace via OAuth.
Pick the project that each Bugpot workspace should push to. You can override per issue type.
Map Bugpot statuses to your GitLab statuses so the two-way sync knows what "resolved" means.
Send a test report from the widget and confirm it lands in GitLab with the screenshot attached.
