Send Bugpot reports to Slack
The Slack integration posts a compact message every time a new report arrives, with the screenshot inline so triage can happen in the channel and only escalate to a ticket when it needs to.
Bugpot × Slack
Post new Bugpot reports into a Slack channel with the annotated screenshot inline.
Status pills flow both ways.
How the sync works
Two-way sync, not a fire-and-forget webhook
Bugpot writes the report into Slack and then watches for changes coming back — status, comments and closes — so the two systems stay in step without anyone re-typing anything.
Outbound
Bugpot → Slack
New reports post to the channel you pick with title, reporter, environment summary and the annotated screenshot inline.
Inbound
Slack → Bugpot
Replies in the message thread post back into the Bugpot report as comments; slash commands can change status inline.
Field map
What lands where
Every Bugpot field has a home in Slack. The defaults are sensible; you can remap any of them from the workspace settings if your setup names things differently.
| Bugpot field | Slack field |
|---|---|
| Title | Message heading |
| Reporter name + email | Message body |
| Environment summary | Message body |
| Annotated screenshot | Inline image |
| Status changes | Follow-up in the same thread |
| Priority | Coloured accent |
Setup
Five steps, about five minutes
The whole thing runs through OAuth — you don’t paste tokens, and Bugpot only requests the scopes it needs to create issues and read status changes.
In Bugpot, open Settings → Integrations and click Connect Slack.
Authorise Bugpot to post to your workspace.
Pick the channel that Bugpot should post to — one per workspace or one per issue type.
Choose which events post: new reports only, or new + status changes.
Send a test report and confirm the message with the screenshot arrives in the right channel.
